Practising Certificate

The Law Institute of Victoria is providing an urgent reminder to all practitioners to renew their practising certificates by this Friday.

All practitioners must renew their practising certificates by 30 June 2017 or they will risk serious consequences as a result of practising without a licence, including disciplinary action and the return of fees generated during the unlicensed period.

The Victorian Legal Services Board + Commissioner is responsible for issuing renewal notices and practising certificates and has advised that practising certificates cannot be backdated for any late renewal after 30 June 2017.

The LIV urges all members who have yet to renew their practising certificates to ensure they do so before the Friday 30 June deadline.

Important information about the renewal process and the consequences of not renewing can be found in the Victorian Legal Services Commissioner’s most recent RPA News here.
