Your friends, family and colleagues can be a tremendous source of emotional support, helping you vent your frustrations and feel connected and understood when you’re struggling. But what about when you’re the one giving support? When you support a struggling colleague or friend you can do a lot of good, but you can also face your own challenges. How can you look after yourself while effectively helping someone else? It helps to understand the potential impact of providing emotional support – set personal boundaries and understand the importance of self-care.
