The Law Institute of Victoria (LIV) Council today announced the resignation of its Chief Executive Officer Nerida Wallace.

The LIV Council has thanked Ms Wallace for her contribution to the organisation since joining as CEO in October 2014.

LIV President Belinda Wilson said the LIV had undergone considerable change and had progressed significantly under Ms Wallace’s leadership as CEO.

“In particular, she will be remembered for her contribution towards the sale of the LIV’s Bourke St building and preparing the organisation for an era where technology drives the practice of law.”

Ms Wilson said Ms Wallace had helped to modernise the organisation and at the same time helped promote access to justice, secure more funding for our courts and stand up for the legal profession and the community.

Ms Wilson said the LIV would continue to grow and transform. “The organisation will now conduct a thorough external search and recruitment process to identify a new CEO to lead it into the future,” she said.

By mutual agreement, Ms Wallace will leave the LIV effective immediately.

In the interim, Ms Wilson will be acting CEO until permanent arrangements can be made.
