LIV releases Commercial Law section Annual Report for 2019

By Commercial Law Section

The LIV has released the Commercial Law section Annual Report for 2019

The Commercial Law section consists of sub-committees, including IP/IT, State Taxes, Tax & Revenue, Competition & Consumer, Charities and Not-For-Profit, Business Corporate Law and the Executive Committee.

Throughout 2019 the section has drafted submissions, held discussion forums, hosted guest speakers and engaged with various government statekholders.

The  section  has  continued  to  build  strong  relationships  between  the  LIV  and  government ministers, and lobbied government bodies such as the Australian Taxation Office and the State Revenue Office across a range of issues affecting corporations and businesses throughout Victoria.

The section has also worked closely with relevant legal professional associations such as the Law Council of Australia to provide a united front on law reform within the profession.
