Succession Law Section Annual Report

By LIV Succession Law Section

The Law Institute of Victoria (LIV) has released the annual report for the Succession Law Section.

The Succession Law Section has 1397 members and collectively seeks to promote the appropriate standards of competency and ethics for succession law practitioners, and support succession lawyers through developing relevant and practical CPD education.

During 2020, the section held a number of CPD events, including the Succession Law Intensive, the Succession Law Conference, Wills & Estates Year in Review and the Will Drafting Masterclass.

Other highlights for 2020 include:

  • Contributing to the LIV’s submission to the Victorian government on regulations to change witnessing legal documents during the COVID-19 pandemic
  • Updating the LIV’s Capacity Toolkit
  • Writing a letter to the Victorian Attorney-General regarding proposed amendments to the Status of Children Act 1974 (Vic).

Please read the 2020 Succession Law Annual Report.
